When I sat down with Erin and James, their love for each other shined through immediately. As Erin told me, “not to mention we’re crazy about each other and our chemistry is so perfect it could only be God-designed!”  And that’s so true!  As we talked, I found out that Erin learned to operate their family’s classic wooden tugboat by the age of 5, and she also worked as a deckhand from a young age. James grew up in the rural, pristine, mountain countryside of British Columbia where he discovered his passion for missions trips and helping others. We chose to shoot the engagement photo’s on the “David B” in Bellingham, WA. The owners of the “David B” were so kind, and allowed us to do the photoshoot on their beautiful boat. My good friend, Katie, also helped tremendously with the outfits and photoshoot coordination. Thanks to everyone for a great time, and best wishes to Erin & James as they sail upon a lifelong journey together!

Ben has been one of my closest friends since 9th grade and we have shared countless adventures together. I wouldn’t know where to begin recapping the jokes, laughs, and memories we’ve had. I was absolutely delighted when Ben & Kristi asked me to take their engagement photos. Throughout the entire session, their interactions showed the love they have for each other- the way Ben held Kristi close, and especially the way he made her laugh. Everything came so naturally for them, and I’m so happy to capture these special moments.

A fun and energetic wedding in Edmonds, WA.

Lisa and Owen’s Bridesmaids and Groomsman were amazing! They had so much energy and love, and they made this a special day for Owen and Lisa!

Love the wedding colors! So rich and vibrant!

I loved the way Lisa and Owen were standing on the stairs outside of this mansion. The stairs and walls, along with Lisa and Owen make this feel like a scene from a fairytale

One of the things I appreciate about my childhood is that my brothers and I were always taught the importance of hard work.  No matter what the task, we learned to work hard and do the best possible job we can. There was never a task that was too inferior or too superior to be done. There’s something to be said about having a strong work ethic. If you work hard and put your mind to something, you can succeed.

Growing up, the lessons I learned form the foundation for much of the work I do today. Whether I’m working at my engineering job, shooting a wedding, or helping at my mom’s tea store, having a strong work ethic brings quality and success to my tasks.  I like having the peace of mind that when faced with a challenge, I stepped up and worked my hardest to achieve success. Sometimes attempts at something will be successful and at other times they will not. But being able to adapt and change is the secret to turning failures into successes.
